You can add Connie to ChatGPT as a custom app (ChatGPT also calls these plugins or MCP apps). Then ChatGPT can search, update and build in your Connie workspace when you ask it to. Connie isn’t listed in ChatGPT’s app directory yet, so you add it yourself with Connie’s server address, https://mcp.connie.ai. It takes a few minutes. Where in Connie: click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar → Connect my agent → ChatGPT (Plus and Pro) or ChatGPT (Business and Enterprise) · https://connie.ai/<workspace-id>/connect-agent/chatgpt
Which ChatGPT plans work? Custom apps are available on ChatGPT plans that support developer mode and custom apps. They don’t work on a free ChatGPT account. The steps below cover personal Plus and Pro accounts and Business and Enterprise workspaces. OpenAI changes which plans get custom apps, and on some plans custom apps can only read, not save or change anything. Check your ChatGPT plan in OpenAI’s help center if the options below don’t appear. Set Connie up in ChatGPT on the web (chatgpt.com).

Personal account (Plus and Pro)

1

Turn on developer mode

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login and switch on Developer mode.
2

Create a custom MCP server

Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, click + and choose Create custom MCP server. In the New Plugin box, click Create MCP App. (OpenAI’s own help may call these Add custom MCP server and Create as a plugin.)
3

Add Connie's server

Enter Connie as the name and https://mcp.connie.ai as the MCP server URL. Choose OAuth for authentication. Leave any client ID and secret fields empty. Tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create.
4

Connect your Connie account

Click Sign in with Connie. If that box doesn’t open by itself, click Connect on Connie’s page.
5

Allow access in Connie

Sign in to Connie if you’re asked. Choose your Default workspace and click Allow access.
6

Set Connie's permissions

Back in ChatGPT, open Settings → Plugins → Connie. Under Permissions, click Allow low-risk tools, then choose Allow all tools so ChatGPT doesn’t ask before every Connie action. Close Settings.
7

Use Connie in a chat

Start a new chat, click + and choose Connie (or type @ and pick it). Then ask something like: “Find 10 VPs or Heads of Sales at US B2B SaaS companies with 50–500 employees, and go ahead and save them to a new list in Connie.”

Business and Enterprise workspace

A ChatGPT workspace admin or owner adds and publishes Connie once (steps 1–3). Then everyone in the ChatGPT workspace connects their own Connie account (steps 4–6).
1

Admin: open Apps in workspace settings

Go to chatgpt.com/admin/apps, or open Workspace settings from your profile menu and choose Apps. Click Create. You need to be a ChatGPT workspace admin or owner.
2

Admin: add Connie's server

Enter Connie as the name and https://mcp.connie.ai as the server URL. Choose OAuth, tick I understand and want to continue and click Create.
3

Admin: publish to your workspace

Open the Drafts tab and click Publish next to Connie. Review the risk notes, tick I trust this app and the review checkbox, then click Publish. Connie moves to Enabled.
4

Everyone: connect your Connie account

In a new chat, click + and choose Connie, then click Connect on Connie’s page.
5

Everyone: allow access in Connie

Sign in to Connie if you’re asked. Choose your Default workspace and click Allow access.
6

Everyone: use Connie

Click Try in chat, or choose Connie from + in a new chat, and ask away.

Good to know

  • No API key needed. You sign in with your Connie account through OAuth.
  • ChatGPT may ask before write actions. For actions that change data, such as saving to a list or sending an email, ChatGPT can ask you to confirm. You control this in Connie’s Permissions in ChatGPT settings.
  • Business workspaces: after an app is published, admins can’t edit its tools. To pick up changes, an admin recreates and republishes the app.
  • Which workspace ChatGPT uses: the Default workspace you chose, unless you name another one in your request. See Manage access.
  • Credits: actions use your Connie workspace’s credits. If you run out, ChatGPT points you to connie.ai/pricing instead of a checkout link. To add credits, open Connie. See Top-ups.

Troubleshooting

Why: developer mode isn’t on, your ChatGPT plan doesn’t include custom apps, or you’re on the mobile app. On Business, only admins can use developer mode. Fix: use chatgpt.com in a browser, switch on Developer mode in Settings → Security and login, and check your plan. On Business or Enterprise, ask your ChatGPT admin to follow the workspace steps.
Fix: paste exactly https://mcp.connie.ai, with https:// and nothing after it, and choose OAuth.
Fix: in a new chat, click + and choose Connie, or type @ and pick it. Check that Connie’s Permissions in ChatGPT settings allow its tools.
Why: your ChatGPT plan may allow only read actions in custom apps, or the tools aren’t allowed in Connie’s permissions in ChatGPT. It can also be your Connie role: guests can only read. Fix: set Allow all tools for Connie in ChatGPT settings, check your ChatGPT plan, and ask a Connie workspace admin for member access if you’re a guest.
