You can share any chat you started with teammates (so you can work in it together) or with anyone through a read-only link. The things Connie makes for you in a chat, like pages, files and small web apps, are called artifacts. Each artifact can be shared on its own, without sharing the chat it came from. Where: the Share button at the top right of a chat · https://connie.ai/<workspace-id>/chat?id=...

Share a chat with teammates

People you share with can read the chat and chat in it with you. Only one person’s message runs at a time; while a teammate’s reply is running, you’ll see “[Name] is typing…” and Send is paused.
1

Open the chat and click Share

Share appears at the top right once the chat has its first message. You can also use Share in the row menu of the chats list. The Share your chat window opens.
2

Choose who has access

Under Internal, choose Selected members only and pick teammates from Email or people in your workspace, or choose Everyone in [your workspace].
3

Save

Click Update permissions. You’ll see “Sharing updated”.
Teammates find shared chats under Shared with me in the chats list (click Chats in the breadcrumb at the top of any chat). Avatars at the top of a shared chat show who’s in it right now.
You can only share with people who are already members of your workspace. Typing an outside email address shows “Add teammates from the member list to share this chat.” To add someone to the workspace first, see Members and roles.
A public link lets anyone (including people outside your workspace) read the chat without signing in. They can’t send messages in it.
1

Open Share

Click Share at the top right of the chat.
2

Turn on link access

Under Share with external people, choose Anyone with the link.
3

Copy the link

Click Copy link. The link works straight away and looks like https://connie.ai/shared/chat/.... You’ll see “Link copied”.
What visitors see: the chat title, a Read-only badge and up to 500 messages. Pages and files from the chat open in a side panel. Workflows, lists, apps and analytics from the chat do not open: visitors see “This [item] can’t be accessed via a shared chat. You need to ask the chat owner to share this [item] with you.” Share those separately from their own pages. Open Share, switch Share with external people back to Invited people only, and click Update permissions. The old link stops working for good. If you turn link access on again later, you get a new link, so you’ll need to send it again.

Ask for access to a chat

If a teammate sends you a chat you can’t open, you’ll see Access restricted: “This chat is restricted. Ask [owner] to grant you access.”
1

Click Request access

You’ll see “Request sent” and “You’ll get an email letting you know if your request was approved.”
2

The owner decides

The chat’s owner gets an email and an Access request notification, and approves or declines it from Notifications.

Artifacts: what Connie makes in a chat

When Connie creates or opens something for you, it appears in the chat as a card with an Open button. Kinds of artifact:

Open and view an artifact

  • On the full Chat page, an artifact opens in a card next to the chat. Drag to resize it. The header has Share, Copy, Download, Full screen / Exit full screen and Close.
  • For workflows, lists and analytics, Full screen opens the real page with this chat docked beside it in Ask Connie.
  • In the Ask Connie side panel, clicking an artifact card opens the artifact’s own page instead.
  • Files can be viewed as Preview, Table, Tree or Source, with Copy and Download. Previews work for files up to 100 MB; spreadsheets preview up to 100,000 rows and 200 columns. Download the file to see the rest.
  • To see every artifact in a chat, click Chat details (the icon at the top right of the chat). The Artifacts section lists them. Its + button adds Records, Automations, Browse template (pick a skill to start from) or Create template.

Turn an HTML file into an app

When Connie creates an HTML page, open it and click Make it an app (“Turn this page into an app that can save data and be shared”). When it’s done you’ll see “Your app is ready”.

Manage an app

Open the app on its own page (https://connie.ai/artifacts/...) and use the More app actions menu:
  • View published version / Preview latest changes
  • Versions: see earlier versions and Restore one.
  • Download source
  • Settings: app secrets, which Connie tools the app may call, and Delete app.
In the app’s tool settings you choose who the app’s tools run as (Run tools as), whether tool access is for Owner only or All viewers, and an optional Guest daily allowance (credits) (“Optional. Leave blank for no additional app limit. Resets at midnight UTC; normal workspace credit checks always apply.”). Tool use by an app uses your workspace’s credits.

Share an artifact

You can share one page, file or app without sharing the chat it came from.
1

Open the artifact and click Share

The Share “[title]” window says “Only this [app, file or canvas] is shared, not the chat it came from”.
2

Choose teammates

By default, People in this chat can open it (this follows the chat’s own sharing). You can switch to Everyone in [your workspace], or add specific members with Add people from your workspace.
3

Choose link access

Choose Invited people only (members only) or Anyone with the link: “People with the link can open this [item], never the chat it came from”.
4

Add a password (optional)

Turn on Require a password and enter one of at least 10 characters. Visitors then need the link and the password.
5

For apps: publish

Click Publish (or Publish changes) to “Publish the preview for people who can open your app.” Turn on Allow duplicates if visitors may copy the app into their own workspace.
Workflows and lists use their own sharing instead: Share on those opens Manage access or Share as template (see Templates and sharing). Analytics views open the Analytics share window (see Analytics). Browser sessions can’t be shared.

What visitors see

  • A shared link opens at https://connie.ai/artifacts/.... Visitors see “Content is user-generated” (“Made by a Connie user, not by Connie. Don’t enter passwords or payment details unless you trust whoever shared it.”).
  • Artifacts from free workspaces show “Made with Connie”. On paid plans visitors see no Connie header.
  • With a password: “Enter the password — This link is protected. Enter the password shared with you to open it.” After unlocking, the visitor stays unlocked for 12 hours. Changing the password locks everyone out until they enter the new one.
  • Visitors can click Duplicate to get their own copy in a new chat, if allowed: “Settings, API keys and connected accounts are never copied.” You’ll see “Making your copy…” and then “Your copy is ready”.
Open Share on the artifact and switch back to Invited people only. The old link stops working for good. Turning link access on again creates a new address. There’s no automatic expiry: links work until you turn them off.

Find all your artifacts

The Artifacts page lists the workspace’s workflows, tables, pages and folders (and apps on the All tab). It isn’t in the sidebar: reach it from the Artifacts breadcrumb on an artifact table or page, or go to the address directly. Where: https://connie.ai/<workspace-id>/artifacts
  • Tabs: All, Workflows, Tables, Pages. Search with Search artifacts….
  • New creates a Workflow, Table, Folder or Page.
  • Each row’s menu has Rename, Duplicate, Move to folder and Delete. Deleting a page also removes it from its chat. Deleting a workflow stops it running. Deleting a folder keeps its contents.

Good to know

  • Who can share a chat: only the chat’s owner. Others see “Only the conversation owner can change sharing settings”.
  • Who can share an artifact: pages and files: the chat’s owner or the person who added the artifact. Apps: only the app’s creator (including passwords and Allow duplicates).
  • Workspace guests can’t see chat artifacts.
  • Post-call follow-up chats can’t be shared (“A post-call follow-up chat cannot be shared.”).
  • Removing someone from a shared chat takes effect immediately. They see “Your access to this chat was removed.”
  • Making a chat private doesn’t turn off public links on its artifacts. Turn those off one by one.
  • Deleting a chat deletes its pages and turns off all page and file share links, including public ones. Apps are kept.
  • Limits: public chat pages show up to 500 messages. Artifact passwords are 10–256 characters. Up to 200 extra members per artifact share.
  • Public chat pages are hidden from search engines.

Troubleshooting

Why: workflows, lists, apps and analytics have their own access and don’t open from a shared chat. Fix: ask the owner to share that item with you directly.
Why: the password doesn’t match. Fix: check with the person who shared it. They may have changed it.
Why: too many wrong passwords in a short time. Fix: wait 15 minutes, then try again with the correct password.
Why: Allow duplicates is off for this app. Fix: ask the app’s creator to turn it on.
Why: you’re not the person who started the chat. Fix: ask the owner to change sharing.
Why: another person changed the artifact’s sharing while you had it open. Fix: review the current settings and save again.
Why: the chat has no owner Connie can send the request to. Fix: ask a workspace owner or admin for help.
Why: the artifact didn’t load in time. You may also see “Loading timed out. The server may be slow — try again.” Fix: click Retry, or Open directly. If it says “This artifact’s source has been deleted and cannot be previewed.”, the original was removed.
Why: it’s an older type of page that Connie no longer supports. Fix: ask Connie to recreate the content.
