# Connect Connie to Cursor

> Add Connie to Cursor with a one-click install link or mcp.json, then sign in with your Connie account.

Add Connie to Cursor so Cursor's agent can work in your Connie workspace. You need Cursor installed ([cursor.com/download](https://cursor.com/download)).

**Where in Connie:** click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar → **Connect my agent** → **Cursor** · `https://connie.ai/<workspace-id>/connect-agent/cursor`

<Note>
  Connie's in-app Cursor guide has two tabs: **Prompt** and **Manual**. The **Prompt** tab gives you a setup prompt that contains your personal API key. We recommend the **Manual** tab, described below. It signs you in with your Connie account and keeps no key in your chat history.
</Note>

## Connect with the install link (recommended)

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the install link">
    In Connie, open **Connect my agent** → **Cursor** → **Manual** and copy the **Install link**. Open it in your browser and click **Open Cursor** when your browser asks.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Install Connie">
    Check that the name is **Connie** and the server URL is `https://mcp.connie.ai`, then click **Install**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Connie appears under **Needs Attention**. Click **Authenticate** and your browser opens.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Allow access in Connie">
    Sign in to Connie if you're asked. Choose your **Default workspace** and click **Allow access**. When you see "Authorization complete", go back to Cursor.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Allow Connie's tools">
    Connie now shows under **Connected**. Click Connie to open its settings. Under **Tools**, set **Reads** and **Writes** to **Allow all**, then click **Done**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use Connie">
    Open a new chat and ask something like: "Find 10 VPs or Heads of Sales at US B2B SaaS companies with 50–500 employees, and go ahead and save them to a new list in Connie."
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Connect with mcp.json

Add Connie to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` for all your projects, or `.cursor/mcp.json` inside one project:

```json mcp.json theme={null}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "connie": { "url": "https://mcp.connie.ai" }
  }
}
```

Save the file. Connie appears in Cursor's MCP settings under **Needs Attention**. Click **Authenticate** and continue from step 4 above.

## Good to know

* **No API key needed.** Cursor signs in with OAuth. Don't add `mcp-remote` or a local command; Cursor connects to Connie directly.
* **This connects Cursor on this computer** across your projects. Cursor's cloud agents need separate setup.
* **Which workspace:** the **Default workspace** you chose, unless you name another in your request. See [Manage access](/mcp/manage-access).
* **Credits:** actions use your Connie workspace's credits. See [Credits](/billing/credits).

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Connie stays under Needs Attention">
    **Fix:** click **Authenticate** and finish **Allow access** in the browser. If the browser didn't open, click **Authenticate** again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Cursor asks before every Connie action">
    **Fix:** open Connie in Cursor's MCP settings and set **Reads** and **Writes** to **Allow all**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Connie consent tabs keep opening after I revoked Cursor">
    **Why:** Cursor retries automatically and opens a new sign-in tab each time. Connie shows a warning: 'You recently revoked Cursor'. **Fix:** click **Cancel**, remove the `connie` entry from `mcp.json`, fully quit and reopen Cursor (a window reload isn't enough), then revoke in Connie. Add it back later to reconnect.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Cursor shows Reconnect needed in Connie's Tools page">
    **Why:** Cursor has no live sign-in left, for example after you revoked it or didn't use it for 30 days. **Fix:** click **Authenticate** on Connie in Cursor's MCP settings and allow access again.
  </Accordion>
