# Connect Connie to Claude Code

> Add Connie to Claude Code in your terminal with one command and sign in with your Connie account.

Claude Code is Anthropic's coding assistant for the terminal. Add Connie to it with one command, sign in in your browser, and Claude Code can work in your Connie workspace.

You need Claude Code on a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan. Everything happens in Terminal on a Mac or PowerShell on Windows.

**Where in Connie:** click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar → **Connect my agent** → **Claude Code** · `https://connie.ai/<workspace-id>/connect-agent/claude-code`

## Connect Connie

<Steps>
  <Step title="Install Claude Code (skip if you have it)">
    Run the command for your computer, then close and reopen the window. Type `claude`, press Enter and sign in.

    ```bash Mac (Terminal) theme={null}
    curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
    ```

    ```powershell Windows (PowerShell) theme={null}
    irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Connie">
    Paste this command and press Enter. It adds Connie for all your projects.

    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http --scope user connie https://mcp.connie.ai
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Type `claude` and press Enter to start Claude Code. Type `/mcp`, press Enter, select **connie** with the arrow keys and choose **Authenticate**. Your browser opens. If it doesn't, open the link Claude Code shows.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Allow access in Connie">
    Sign in to Connie if you're asked. Choose your **Default workspace** and click **Allow access**. Claude Code shows "Authentication successful."
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use Connie">
    Press Esc to close the menu, then ask something like: "Find 10 VPs or Heads of Sales at US B2B SaaS companies with 50–500 employees, and go ahead and save them to a new list in Connie."
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Other ways to add Connie

**Only the current project:** leave out `--scope user`.

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp add --transport http connie https://mcp.connie.ai
```

**Share with your team through the repository:** use `--scope project`. Claude Code writes a `.mcp.json` file in the project that you can commit:

```json .mcp.json theme={null}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "connie": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.connie.ai" }
  }
}
```

Each teammate still signs in with their own Connie account through `/mcp` → **connie** → **Authenticate**.

**Signing in from the shell or over SSH:** run `claude mcp login connie`. Add `--no-browser` to print the sign-in link instead of opening a browser.

## Manage the connection

| Command | What it does |
| - | - |
| `claude mcp list` | Shows your MCP servers and whether they're connected. |
| `claude mcp get connie` | Shows Connie's settings. |
| `claude mcp logout connie` | Signs out of Connie but keeps it in your list. |
| `claude mcp remove connie` | Removes Connie and its stored sign-in. |

## Good to know

* **No API key needed.** Claude Code signs in with OAuth in your browser.
* **Don't add Connie with `npx`, `mcp-remote` or a local command.** Connie is a remote server; the `--transport http` command above is all you need.
* **Which workspace:** the **Default workspace** you chose, unless you name another in your request. See [Manage access](/mcp/manage-access).
* **Credits:** actions use your Connie workspace's credits. See [Credits](/billing/credits).

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="/mcp shows connie as needing authentication">
    **Why:** you haven't signed in yet, you didn't use it for 30 days, or access was revoked in Connie. **Fix:** `/mcp` → **connie** → **Authenticate**, or run `claude mcp login connie`.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The browser didn't open">
    **Fix:** open the link Claude Code prints. On a remote machine, run `claude mcp login connie --no-browser` and open the link on your own computer.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Connie works in one project but not another">
    **Why:** you added it without `--scope user`, so it only exists in the first project. **Fix:** run `claude mcp remove connie` there, then add it again with `--scope user`.
  </Accordion>
